Especially not from a game by Square Enix. This shit sounds like something I’d hear in the MCU. With a protagonist who has all the likability of a flea. Well, if the rest of the Internet’s reaction (and mine) is anything to gauge this by, then clearly they did NOT get the reaction they were anticipating.Īs for me, a hard pass. Like something written to get people hyped. Who cast her? Who wrote this dialogue? I am assuming this isn’t something in the game. I hear that, and I want to pull out the Mary Sue Bingo board. This chick sounds like every anime protagonist from some isekai crap. My favorite games are all ones with engaging narratives that keep me invested, with characters who I can connect with. Sounds like stuff you’d hear from Daisy Ridley. Apparently “that is something I do now.” We then have her talking about all the “awesome” things she does, and never have I had a reason to dislike a character more than listening to this cringe-tastic dialogue. We have what I assume to be our protagonist in the most blatant exposition I’ve ever heard, talking about how she’s not on Earth and she is seeing “freaking dragons,” and she is talking to a cuff. A beautiful and cruel new land? Twisted monsters? An array of magical abilities? Sentient jewellery!?
